In Amazon Affiliates, it is very important that you choose the right products. If you choose the wrong product then no one is ever going to buy through your review website. This article provides an explanation on the products you should be targeting through Amazon Affiliates. When it comes to selling products online, I never target the consumer electronics niche. This niche involves products like digital cameras, digital camcorders, television, mobile phones, and home entertainment systems. I do not focus on these products because they are way too saturated in the internet marketing world. Authority websites like Techcrunch, Gizmodo, and Technorati already covers these product therefore there is no reason for customers to check out other review websites, unless you are an absolute expert at a particular product of course. So how do I go about finding the right product? You need to first be aware of the type of product you are looking for. You are looking for a product which is away from the limelight. A product which the general population does not really notice, yet it still gets a decent number of sales. In order to find this product, I like to just search around Amazon and type in a few random keywords here and there. For example, if I type up cat then a whole list of cat-related products will appear. I will then select the most random product and see where it goes from there. I will utilize the Google keyword tool to see if that particular product has a decent number of traffic. I tend to go for products which has around 1,000 to 10,000 monthly keyword searches. The higher the monthly keyword searches, the higher the competition. Therefore, you would be better off targeting niches with low competition. I have had great success with a product which gains an average of 1,200 searches every month. I still earn over $50 a month for that particular website, even if it is not searched that often. This goes to show that it is not always the best option to target competitive products. When I have found a list of suitable products, I will then check whether I can get a decent domain. The perfect domain would be one which allows you to get a.com domain for that particular product keyword. For example, if you are targeting soft cushions then the best domain would be softcushions.com. However, you do not have to worry too much about it. It will be fine as long as you can fit in the main keyword somewhere.
