SEO - Organic Search Engine Optimization For Your Website

Thursday, 10 March 2011 20:00

Organic search engine optimization is very important for any website. This refers to optimization intended to bring in natural traffic. For example, if you add keywords that draw in traffic from a search engine, this could be considered organic. On the other hand, if you purchase an advertisement on a website, then this would not be considered organic. Organic SEO can take time, but it is well worth it for your website. Once you have completely optimized for natural traffic, you will be better equipped to maintain regular unique visitor quotas without having to pay for advertising to do so.

Select Multiple Effective Keywords

Begin your organic search engine optimization efforts by selecting multiple keywords. You must avoid keyword stuffing if you want to create a reputable, quality website that draws attention to both human and web crawler traffic. However that does not mean sticking with only one or two keywords. Instead, select a few and use them whenever appropriate. This will increase your coverage area on search result pages. Also remember to add a few commonly used variations as well.

Consider Content and Article Length

Organic search engine optimization may require boosting the length of each article or piece of content included on your website. Make sure any additions are relevant and offer the reader a good value, just like your other content does. This is key to making your human visitors happy. However some professionals have found that articles that are more than 600 words in length tend to get more attention. When dealing with content, try to write more than 250 to 300 words per page. This will offer more information that can attract the attention of popular search engines like Google.

Become an Expert with a Blog

If you do not already have one, consider making a blog to go along with your website. This could be about anything as long as it is relevant to your website's subject matter. Add back links to your website so visitors to your blog can find your website as well. In terms of organic search engine optimization, this will create another path for web crawlers to find your website. As your blog ages (and the back link along with it), the link will also begin to carry more weight. If you become an expert on the blog's topic, you may turn into a resource that both search engines and human visitors will hold in a high regard. This can have a trickle down effect to your website through the back link.

Add New, Unique Content

As you monitor your organic search engine optimization efforts, make sure you are adding new and unique content. Duplicate content will often be overlooked by web crawlers. Having a fresh post regularly will re-draw attention from search engines like Google to your website or blog. That attention is definitely a good thing to help your website achieve the search result ranking you have been working towards. Make it a habit to ensure that your organic search engine optimization efforts pay off in the long run.
