Say, when fast-food chain owners set up that franchise in your area, what do you think they considered first? How about when banks approved your credit card? And as a talent manager made a pick between two hopefuls for a reality show, what could he/she had taken into consideration to choose one over the other? You as a consumer knows very well how you choose your products, but on the side of those who sell you those products, have you wondered what they were considering? A major factor that sellers who are affiliated with ClickBank looks into, is what they call 'ClickBank Gravity" You see, ClickBank, being one of the largest marketing network programs, devised a phenomenal way to make their products known. And that is online marketing through affiliated individuals. Affiliated in a sense, that they earn from the company not out of employment but of membership. ClickBank helps these affiliated individuals gauge products popularity in the market, and in turn make sales, through its ClickBank gravity score. If you have purchased a ClickBank product through someone on the net, I'm certain that that someone was sure you're gonna buy it based from the gravity score of that product. No, it's not products having high score of hypnotic waves that seem to have gravitational pull on you for you to purchase it ( Just leave that thought to our sci-fi-movies-fed mind) but rather, it's a score of how many other affiliated individuals had made sales with that same product you bought. So, a certain ClickBank product's high gravity score means you're not just one of the few buyers, you're among the many other patronizers making a product popular enough to be publicly demanded. Gravity score equals you and what others want. Whilst on the marketer's point of view, it's them and what others had sold. High product sales means it's either popular or useful or both. That's why most of those affiliated individuals would look into the product's gravity score before investing their time selling it. Some, however, would take the risk of investing into new products thinking it'll be known in due time. In either way, both head to product popularity, a fact that makes selling easier. Not new for anyone in the business, ClickBank's gravity score is not sufficient enough for an affiliate to bet on the product. In the first place, it doesn't give the exact score of the sales. The algorithm of it continues to put others in deep thought, and only ClickBank knows every Math involve in it. Affiliates, led by curiosity, managed to unlock a hint of its mystery however. It was said that for every affiliate making sale, a score of 1.0 is added on the product's gravity. On the few days of not making sale, fractional points are deducted to it until the 8th week of no sales. After which, the affiliate will have no contribution to that product's calculated gravity score. Perhaps gravity score isn't much of a substance for you. But for those affiliates who successfully routed you to a link that made you buy a product, had considered this scoring before you had ever known that page.
