AFF - Mastermind - A Way For Achieving Your Personal Growth

Have you ever wondered, how much influence people around you have in your life? For example, how do your five closest friends affect your personal behavior? Think just for a second in three things about them: How is their health? How much do they earn on average per year? What are their aspirations? Once you have thought about it, think about how those answers apply to your own life; I am quite sure that you got really surprised when you realized how much you look like them. All human beings are influenced by the environment that surrounds them and by the people who they interact with. And eventually, without even realizing it, they grow to what they surrounded themselves with.

If this is so obvious, why not turning our environment and the people who surround us, into something that inspires and contributes to our own personal growth? To answer that question, let me introduce you to the concept of "Mastermind". A mastermind is a group of people who share something in common, such as a value or a hobby. They meet to share their experiences and cooperate among themselves, because they really believe that their union as a group may be more effective than having to grow independently. They also have a common purpose that will be attained in a spirit of harmony.

Every mastermind needs a leader or facilitator and you can be that person; all you need to do, is find people who already are in a stage of life into which you want to grow (not more than 5 to 10 years from now) and/or others who have not arrived yet where you are, but you consider they have a great potential. Furthermore, in a mastermind, everyone must be committed to grow. Start by finding a place where they can meet regularly in person (if they are far away you can use a telephone but it is not recommended). Take your time to choose members carefully, because all must be big contributors and add value to the others. The idea is making the group stronger and stronger every time.

You are responsible for making everything work out correctly, so do not skimp on required efforts. For example, if you must send someone off the group, do it without hesitation. Plan the meetings in advance and make sure all members will grow and will have a big challenge on the attendees' agenda. Reward the outstanding contributors in different ways (material or moral), but always keep in mind that your major goal is to grow and not to have a financial gain.

Once you organize the mastermind, you will be very surprised on how much you learned. You can create as many masterminds as stages in your life; just remember that the most important requirement to be met is that every one of the participants at the mastermind must encourage you to grow further.
