When first starting out as an affiliate the world seems like your oyster. The mental conversations about 'i just have to sell 100 of this product and i've got that new car!' Are numerous and constant in their presence. These conversations though can quickly turn sour into tirades about how 'nothing works!' And 'how was I so stupid?!'

This change usually occurs at the end of the first week or the first month when not as many sales have been realized as were once thought.

What i'd like to say if this is your condition is that you really need to take it easy.

Take a step back for a few seconds and congratulate yourself on the fact that you've made any sales at all. If you haven't then congratulate yourself on the fact that you've kept going for a month or a week or however long you have and not given up.

Okay now that your breathing is a little bit easier and you no longer feel that somewhere along the way the world caved in around your ears let's start working on how you're going to start raking in a few more sales.

As a side note when this article does help you make those sales if the new car you're buying happens to be a Mercedez - Benz please mention me at the dealership and tell them I should receive a discount for indirectly getting them a new customer!

If you're using article marketing as your main source of traffic to your affiliate link then I'm going to tell you that the same rules that applied 5 years ago don't today.

If you're writing articles you're going to have to do more than just write a good article that is search engine optimized. You're going to have to promote it after you've written it using social bookmarking, social networks, your blog, forum posts, tweets and every other manner at your disposal.

Apart from this you're going to have to write more articles than you have been before. I would say between 5 - 10 would be the recommended amount but if you're quick at writing articles 20 - 30 a day is possible.

Rest assured because one of the beautiful things about article marketing is that once the article is up it is there forever therefore those 5 or 10 a day will deliver many, many more people to your website than they did in the last couple of months as time goes by.

When it comes to video marketing the key is being consistent with your content.

Record at least a video a day and post it online. In the beginning it may seem like you're getting nowhere but as long as the videos are video engine optimized and you promote them in the same manner that you would an article or blog post they will get views and you will get click throughs due to them.

Blogging is yet again another form of advertising that requires consistent content creation.

People like to read blogs that are continuously updated with something new and fresh for them to sink their teeth in to. Remember to form connections within the blogging community in your niche and other authors might feature your posts in their blogs when you continuously make quality posts.

When using forum marketing quality posts are the name of the game and making sure these posts get lots of replies is an important aspect of this.

Whenever you make a post always make sure that it is a question or has a question at the end.

Everybody likes to weigh in on their favorite topics so always give them an opportunity to do so.

Also look over your signature and check if it's up to scratch. Ask yourself objectively 'would I click that if i saw it?'.

In this article I will only deal with these four because as you all know these four are the kinds of advertising that require the most patience therefore the kinds that can also let you down the most if you're not persistent.
