What it takes to make a good income from home.

This article is directed toward "seasoned citizens" (like me), college students and stay-at-home-Moms and Dads.

If you believe all of the hype and nonsense spilling out of the Internet these days about how YOU can make a fortune overnight, you may be setting yourself up for a big disappointment.

Yes, a lot of money changes hands over the Internet every minute of every day. But from personal experience I have fallen victim to a bunch of outright scams and I'm sick of it. You see, back in October 2009 I started a home business. I decided to be an affiliate marketer. An affiliate is someone who sells products created by other people and is paid a commission when a sale is posted. I never have any contact with the purchaser, and I never handle a product.

After nearly three months of hard work on my part, and I hadn't made a single penny, I knew that either I was doing something very wrong or this Internet marketing really doesn't work. Well it didn't take me long to put the blame where it belonged-with me.

As I was struggling to get established I took advantage of every free "Report," and "E-book" I could get my hands on. Most of them gave me snatches of what I needed to know-but none gave me the full picture. I am definitely NOT a computer geek. I guess that's the logic behind Internet marketing. These folks would GIVE me a teaser hoping I'd buy the full story.

Affiliate marketing can be done for free!

Well I held out because I had read over and over that affiliate marketing can be done for free.

• It costs nothing to sign up with a product distributor like ClickBank,
• there is no charge to register with the ClickBank vendors,
• and to attract people who are searching for information on the Internet, I write and post articles on free article directories like the article you are reading.

But in all honesty folks, it really isn't that simple-especially if you need that extra income NOW!

Most of what I learned said you can run an affiliate business without a website. If you try that route you'll be discouraged very quickly. You see-most of the article directories require that you have a personal website. When you click on the link below, that will take you to one of my websites, so I meet that requirement.

Yes there really is more to affiliate marketing than you can imagine-but once to know HOW TO DO IT, it becomes a great pleasure-especially when you check your ClickBank account and it lists all the orders they filled for you on that day.
