If you're a complete beginner with affiliate marketing or an experienced affiliate, finding reputable affiliate programs can sometimes be a challenge. This is mainly due to the fact that there are so many programs to choose from. Some even turn out to be total scams even thought they looked legitimate. Here are 3 things you should look for before you decide to join an affiliate program. Reputable affiliate programs will meet all of these criteria. 1. Initial Investment - Most affiliate programs are free to join and won't require an investment of any kind. With that said, there are programs that do require a fee or monthly investment to be a member of. If that is the case, the program should either have a product/s of some sort or other benefit of being a member. Also, you'll earn commissions by referring others as they'll also have to pay the fee to join. This setup would not be considered a scam. However, if you have to pay a monthly fee and there is no product/s of any kind, then be very weary. There has to be a product/s of some kind involved to justify the program and monthly investment required. Without this condition, it would not be considered reputable. 2. Solid Reputation - Any reputable affiliate program will have a solid reputation among its members and the internet community. There are various sites to check the validity of affiliate programs, including affiliate marketing forums. Also, the Better Business Bureau is good place to look to check the status of a company that is offering the program. 3. Contact Information - Any reputable company will post contact and postal information on their website. If you come across a site that doesn't, then you may want to steer clear. When you do find contact information, don't just stop there; follow through with it by actually calling or emailing them. Any reputable affiliate program will have a support team that will answer your emails or calls. If you don't get a response or the line seems to be disconnected, then it's a sure bet that they're a fraud. No matter what, do your due diligence when searching for reputable affiliate programs.
