If that is the case, the program should either have a product/s of some sort or other benefit of being a member. Also, you'll earn commissions by referring others as they'll also have to pay the fee to join.

This setup would not be considered a scam. However, if you have to pay a monthly fee and there is no product/s of any kind, then be very weary. There has to be a product/s of some kind involved to justify the program and monthly investment required. Without this condition, it would not be considered reputable.

2. Solid Reputation - Any reputable affiliate program will have a solid reputation among its members and the internet community. There are various sites to check the validity of affiliate programs, including affiliate marketing forums. Also, the Better Business Bureau is good place to look to check the status of a company that is offering the program.

3. Contact Information - Any reputable company will post contact and postal information on their website. If you come across a site that doesn't, then you may want to steer clear. When you do find contact information, don't just stop there; follow through with it by actually calling or emailing them.

Any reputable affiliate program will have a support team that will answer your emails or calls. If you don't get a response or the line seems to be disconnected, then it's a sure bet that they're a fraud.
