AFF - Is it Better to Own Your Own Website Or Be an Affiliate?

Lets look at this in two stages. Firstly being an affiliate and secondly making your own website and being in charge of everything.

1 Being an affiliate of someone else's website is a great way to get into the online business. There is basically nothing to do except subscribe to the particular website that interests you. You do not have to produce the website or do any maintenance. All you have to do is advertise your affiliate link and get people to click on it. This is an easy way to start an online business and after time you may want to make your own website if you find that you enjoy what you are doing.

2 The second option is to make your own website and run the business yourself. The advantage of this is that it lets you control the content of your website and make any changes that you feel are appropriate. The only problem with this is that you have to set up your own website. There are, however, costs associated with this. Firstly you have to get your own domain name in order for your web business to have an address, that is the www bit at the front of every web page. Secondly, you need to get a hosting company that you can upload you web pages to. The domain name is an annual subscription, usually about $10, and the hosting company costs any thing from $10 per month upwards, you just have to decide how big your web site is going to be.

There are many free programs that teach you how to make your own website, just type in "make your own web site" into something like google and you will find hundreds of programs that will teach you how to make your own website. It is fun to do and you will learn a lot about the web business. So just decide if you want to be an affiliate and sell someone else's product, or make your own web site and get affiliates to join your program and do the selling for you.
