There are so many different types of affiliate products and so many different methods for selling them that sometimes, choosing a profitable product to promote can seem rather confusing. Here are 3 tips for choosing a profitable product to help you get over that initial hump. Will someone buy it? - There's hardly an item out there that someone won't buy. Go to the Google Keyword Tool and see if anyone is actually searching for that product. Search some of it's related keywords, too, to make sure people are interested in what it can do for them. The higher the search number the better. But not too high. Look for products or keywords that have 800 to 1000 searches per month. Any higher and you'll probably already have some pretty stiff competition. How many are already selling it? - You've got to consider your competition. One of the worst niches you can try to break into is the Make Money Online niche. Yes, millions of people are looking for this information but there are also literally millions of blogs and websites devoted to this topic in one way or another. To find out how many competing sites you have, go to your Google search box and type in your keyword or the name of the product. For example, if you wanted to see how many competing sites were selling a Make Money Online product, you would type "Make Money Online" into your Google Search box - WITH the quotation marks. You'll see that there are nearly 13 million web pages promoting some type of make money online product. That's some pretty hefty competition! How much support will you get from the vendor? - Your job, as an affiliate marketer, is just to get people to click on the link that leads to the advertiser's sales page. A good advertiser will supply you with banners and some even provide content articles for your site or emails for you to use in an email campaign. Look for a product that has a professional looking sales page, too, to help with conversions. No matter how much time and energy you put into creating the perfect affiliate site, it still comes down to the advertiser to make the actual sale. If his sales page looks terrible or his copywriting sounds like it was done by a six year old, then chances are you'll never see a sale with that product.
