If you've been looking at affiliate marketing as a way to make money online either full or part-time it does have many benefits. Low Start up Costs Basically all you will spend to start an affiliate marketing website is

- Lots of time
A reliable monthly hosting service will cost you less than $10 a month, a domain name (a.com name is preferable) will cost you roughly $10 for a year's registration, and an autoresponder may cost you around $19 a month, depending on how many subscribers you get. I mention "lots of time" because this will be your largest investment. If you start affiliate marketing remember it is a business and needs to be attended to as such. You will have to write regular content for the site and article marketing sites, leave comments on other people's blogs to get backlinks and participate in social media if you choose. Make sure the product will be wanted in years to come; many electronic gadgets are obsolete within months. Health and wellness products are often a good place to start especially if you know a lot about your niche subject. Building Traffic & Relationships Through a system of marketing and getting your website known, you build traffic. You retain that traffic by offering visitors quality content they will find useful and informative and you hope they'll share with their friends. To be found by searchers and search engines you will need to use keywords. If you want to be in the yoga niche, go to Google's keyword tool and check out the word yoga. From there you will see there are thousands of results and ideas for writing content around. Don't choose the keywords with the highest traffic, you'll get more page views by using keywords that have less traffic. Squeeze Page & Autoresponder Service - Essential Tools One of the first things you should do after you have added a number of good articles to your website is to invest in an autoresponder and build a squeeze page where you will capture visitors' e-mail addresses. These will be used for your ongoing e-mail marketing campaign. By using an autoresponder service you can send out a newsletter every month and e-mails on a regular basis. These e-mails should also include quality content and not always be for the purpose of selling your product. People soon get tired of being bombarded with salesy e-mails. Content Marketing Not only should you write good quality content for your website which contains keywords that will attract both searchers and search engines but write articles to be submitted to article marketing sites too. Part of content marketing can be to make your own videos which can be posted on your website and on YouTube. Marketing Marketing is an enormous subject on its own. One way to learn more about marketing is to find a well-respected affiliate or internet marketer's blog and subscribe either by e-mail or RSS feed. It may take you a while to find somebody you like and trust as there are a number of shady characters in the business. Some affiliate marketers make millions of dollars every year and they're willing to share their techniques with newcomers for free. They may promote some products, especially tools which will help you, but before you buy anything do thorough research and ask yourself if you really need that particular product. You can waste a lot of money on things that you don't need. Affiliate marketing takes a lot of effort but if you choose the right product and market it to people who want it and then build a relationship with them, you should do well. It takes dedication and consistency and a thorough understanding of the business to succeed. Most affiliate marketers have more than one site and it's a good idea to diversify. You may find that you did choose the wrong product for an affiliate site, so just treat it as a learning experience find another product and start again.
